A prestigious residential and office development close to the legal and financial district in Sheffield has undergone a major refurbishment with insulated infill panels supplied by Panel Systems.
Sheffield-based architectural panel manufacturer Panel Systems has supplied Aluglaze infill panels for Velocity Village, which is close to the city centre and consists of 443 residential apartments and 64,000 sq ft of office accommodation.
Working closely with the glazing contractor, Panel Systems supplied 400m² of Aluglaze panels on call-off for the eight storey building, over an 18 month period.
The panels were supplied in a grey powder coated finish, with each panel pressed into a bespoke boot-shape design. This added to the building’s aesthetics and complemented its contemporary architecture, which included full height glazing.
As well as enhancing its aesthetics, the insulated panels also help to reduce the building’s energy consumption and carbon footprint, due to their insulated core. Aluglaze panels can be supplied in different thicknesses to achieve U-values as low as 0.15W/m²K.
Danny Phelan, Sales Manager at Panel Systems, said: “The design requirements of this project were very specific, and the ‘boot shaped’ design of the panel created a stunning effect to the exterior of the building. As a Sheffield company, we are proud to be associated with such a prestigious project right here on our doorstep!”
A premium quality panel, Aluglaze is typically specified when aesthetic considerations are paramount and is available in all Interpon D, Syntha Pulvin & Anodised colours.
Panel Systems’ bespoke service means that Aluglaze panels can be designed to suit all glazing and curtain walling systems. They are also able to meet the required insulation, acoustic and fire resisting criteria.
Aluglaze panels from Panel Systems have been supplied to a wide variety of commercial, educational and healthcare environments and they are renowned for their aesthetics and performance.
Panel Systems manufactures a full range of bespoke composite panels that are used to create aesthetically striking and thermally efficient buildings.
